Volcanic systems and fissure swarm and fracture database

What is this data ?

These databases include detailed mapping of fractures and eruptive fissures of many of the fissure swarms and fracture systems in Iceland.  Databases available include:

  • The South Iceland Seismic Zone
  • The Northern Volcanic Zone
  • Parts of the Tjörnes Fracture Zone
  • The Húsavík – Flatey faults
  • The Reykjanes Peninsula Oblique Rift
  • The Tungnafellsjökull fissure swarm (Central Iceland)

Where is it available?  Users of the databases have access to them.
